Mr. Gouldmann led off with the Lord's Prayer. This was the highest attendance at a Committee meeting in many years. We hope to see you all at future meetings also!

The Next committee meeting will be December 8th in the Church Hall. All troop adults are encouraged to attend these meetings.

New Assistant Scoutmasters - The troop welcomes the assistance of Mr. Clary who has been helping Mr. Freeburger and Mr. Gagliardi who will be working with the younger scouts.

Dan's Eagle Ceremony - December 10th - Scouts, please arrive no later than 6:45. The ceremony will begin at 7:00. Please be on time. Scouts should wear Class A uniforms and bring a bottle of soda and a dessert.

Ski trip? The troop is evaluating the possibility of a ski trip, but it is likely that the cost may be prohibitive for this year.

Summer Camp 2005 - The troop will camp at Camp Powhatan VA July 23rd to July 30th. Powhatan is in a scenic Blue Ridge Mountains area of VA with a natural lake. More information can be found on the BSA web site at www.bsa-brmc.org . Mark your calendar! Scouts planning on attending are requested to submit a $10 deposit between now and January 23rd. Thank you Mike Cox and Tim Smith for organizing this trip.

Boy Scout dues - Mr. Luken is now collecting dues for next year. Scout dues - $25, Boys Life - $5, and adult dues - $10. All adults participating in troop activities should register.

Andrew is an Eagle Scout - Andrew passed his Eagle Board of Review. Congratulations Andrew as the Troop's newest Eagle Scout!

Growing Pains - The troop has grown quite a bit recently and also needs a proportionate growth in help from parents. Please remember that the Scoutmasters, Committee Chair and all of the adult leaders are volunteers. ADDITIONAL HELP IS NEEDED. For example, if you thought that a camping trip was not as organized as it could be, or you or your son were disappointed that the Annapolis trip fell through, then we'll welcome your assistance in organizing future camping trips. Well-run camping trips don't happen by accident. Volunteer help - it's the only way we can get things done!

Improved Communication Needed - The Committee discussed this issue at length and agreed that improvements to communication are needed, especially regarding weekly plans for the scout meetings. The Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) calls the patrol leaders every week to provide information on the upcoming scout meeting. The patrol leader should then call his patrol. If your son is not getting called then he should let his patrol leader, and then the SPL know. The Committee agreed to pursue setting up a troop web site, with the assistance of Mr. Lelonek. This should help with providing the latest important information, including troop permission forms.

Christmas Food Drive The Troop will assist six local families in need. Please bring non-perishable food donations to the December 17th fruit pick up. On Saturday, the food will be delivered directly to the families. Please don't forget to help and bring a bag of food. We'll also need adult help to deliver the food.

Fruit Drive - Please remember to call everyone on your list early enough to allow for repeat calls if they aren't home. Orders are due on December 10th. On the morning of Saturday, December 11th we are looking for some parents to provide a few hours time help make additional calls. Please see Mr. Luken if you can help. Also, at the end of every fruit drive there is always some leftover fruit that is not picked up. We are looking for someone to keep the fruit in their garage until it can be sold. Please see Mr. Luken if you have some temporary space. Please try to sell as much fruit on your own. If you give some out to your coworkers, you will have willing customers for the next order.

Council Recognition Dinner is January 27 - All Eagle scouts from the past year will be recognized. Cost of dinner is $30 in advance and $40 later. New Eagle Scouts are free. Please see Mr. Bell for additional information.
