The Troop Held a Committee Meeting on January 12th . In attendance were: Mr. Gouldmann, Mr. Freeburger, Mr. Luken, Mr. and Mrs. Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Lelonek, Mr. Vickers, Mr. Gagliardi, Ms. Holmes, Mr. Cox, Mr. Heinz, Mr. Burton, Ms. Podhorniak, Mr. Crist, Mr. King, and Mr. O'Brien. Mr. Gouldmann led off with the Lord's Prayer. Because of Ash Wednesday, the next committee meeting will be February 16 at 7:30 in the Church Hall. Note change in time. All troop adults are encouraged to attend these meetings.

Fruit Drive DATE CHANGES- THE FRUIT ORDERS ORIGINALLY DUE IN MARCH ARE NOW DUE ON FEBRUARY 18TH . The fruit will arrive on February 25th . Please remember to call everyone on your list early especially because of the changed date. Also, everyone should place a reminder call to the customers that placed an order a day or two prior to the fruit arriving on February 26th . Thanks for your understanding. This last minute change was made by the Florida citrus company.

Troop 746 Scout Banquet will be February 27th . The event will begin with the Troop attending noon mass in Class A uniform, followed by festivities in the Church Hall.

STAND TRAINING and BSA Youth Protection Training are required - Guess what? If you have not attended both of these training events, you need to! The troop is looking at the possibility of organizing the training for the troop adults.

Dulaney District Training Opportunities - 3/17 Training Committees, 4/12 Life to Eagle Roundtable, etc. For additional information please see the district web site at www.dulaneybsa.org/2005Training.htm .

Other Misc. items - Mr. Luken will be meeting with Fr. Kevin to get our charter signed. Mr. Heinz is working on an additional Eagle Scout Plaque for the Scout building. Copies of merit badge counselor approvals will be kept by the troop.

Increased costs of last summer van rentals - Mr. Luken received a bill for cracked windshields in our rental vans. Mr. King contacted the rental company and negotiated a decrease in the amount. Thanks Mike! The Committee voted to pay the additional amount of $480.

New tents - Mr. King purchased 6 new Coleman tents and the Committee voted to buy 4 more. Mr. King also will talk to Home Depot to see if they could donate equipment such as Webber grills.

Dues still outstanding - a number of adults and scouts have not paid dues. Please see Mr. Norbert if you are one of them.

Help is needed - Adult help is needed for merit badge counseling, to plan monthly camping trips and plan the next long range trip, Seabase, and Philmont trips.

The troop has a cargo trailer - Mr. Burton bought a 12 FT. trailer from BGE and will donate it to the troop. The Troop is looking for help and/or donations to paint it. Thanks Mr. Burton, the troop will benefit from this for a long time.

Web site update - Check out our web site at www.troop746.com ! The web site will include troop history, merit badge counselor list, and forms such as trip permission slips. The Hikers are also posted. Thanks Mr. Lelonek! If you are reading this now you are visiting our Troop Website.

Summer Camp 2005 - The troop will camp at Camp Powhatan VA July 23 rd to July 30 th . We need to know the names of adults attending the entire week. Please see Mr. Luken ASAP.

Finally, I have announced that I wish to retire as the Troop Secretary and Hiker Editor. Please see Mr. Gouldmann if you would like to help the troop out by taking over this position.
