The Troop Held a Committee Meeting on October 13 th . In attendance were: Mr. Gouldmann, Mr. Clary, Mr. Luken, Mr. Myers, Mr. O'Brien, Mr. Heinz, Mr. Gagliardi, Mr. Anthony, Mr. Vickers, Ms. Garrison, Mr. Lelonek, and Ms. Podhorniak. Mr. Gouldmann led off with the Lord's Prayer. It was a pleasure seeing new faces at the committee meeting. We hope you all join us frequently at future meetings. The Next committee meeting will be November 10 th in the Church Hall. All troop adults are encouraged to attend these meetings.
Camp Cone October 8, 9, and 10 - The Troop had a great time and enjoyed some (almost) home cooked meals.
Depart from and return to the Scout building - Please remember that scouts should report back to the scout building following camping trips to help unload gear.
Next Troop Trip - The troop will spend the night of November 5th following a merit badge night at the scout building and on the 6 th take a day trip to Annapolis . All should bring money for lunch. Adult drivers are needed
FLA Hurricanes Damage Citrus Crops - Remember the lessons of supply and demand? Because of the damage to the crops less fruit is available and the cost has gone up. Most affected are the navel oranges and grapefruit. As a result, we will have only three fruit deliveries and they will be in December (naval oranges only), January (honeybell oranges and grapefruit) and March (tangerines). See the calendar below for specific dates. The cost of navel oranges will increase $3 per half case. The fruit drive is our major fundraiser, which helps the troop pay for many of the boy's activities. Please help out as much as you can. |
St. Joseph 's Church Cat's Meow replicas - Guess what, we still have them! These are available for $25 each. The troop still has 27 more to sell to break even. If you are interested, please see Mr. or Mrs. Dulny. We are still looking for a handy person to make a small enclosure to display the Cat's Meow Church in the vestibule of the Church, please see Mrs. Dulny or Mr. Gouldmann.
Merit Badge Counsellors Needed - Please consider what activities you enjoy and know about and consider signing up to be a merit badge counselor. Ms. Poshorniak coordinates this effort and especially requests that we have additional biking merit badge counselors.
Scout Dues are due by December 3 - They are as follows: Scouts - $25, Boys Life - $5, and adults - $10. All adults that attend scout functions should register. Adults can register as committee members or assistant scoutmasters.
Required Adult Training - Boy Scouts require that adults have Youth Protection Training which can be completed on-line at the Baltimore Area Council web site. In addition, the Baltimore Arch Diocese requires all adults that will have contact with children to take the STAND training. Dates for this training can be found at the Arch Diocese web site at http://www.archbalt.org/STAND/training.cfm
Adult Training Records - We'd like to know who has current scout training. Mr. Pat Myers is now keeping track of this information. Please contact Mr. Myers to let him know.
Troop 746 Christmas Food Drive - Every year the troop directly provides non-perishable food to a few area families in need. Please bring food donations to the December fruit drive.
Troop 746 Web Site - Mr. Lelonek will look into the cost and effort of creating a web site and report back at the next committee meeting.
