The Troop Held a Committee Meeting on July 21st. In attendance were: Mr. Freeburger, Mr. Anthony, Mr. Amrhein, Mr. Dulny, Mr. Myers, Ms. Homes, Mr. O'Brien, and Mr. Wilder. Mr. Freeburger led off with the Lord's Prayer. The Next committee meeting will be Wednesday August 18th . Please remember that all troop adults are encouraged to attend these meetings.

Utah/Arizona 2004 trip - Those that were on the trip discussed what a great success it was. The Troop visited 6 national parks, did an all day rafting trip in the Colorado , took plenty of short hikes in the red rock area of Utah , and happily endure the hot dry weather. Many compliments were bestowed on the boys for their discipline and behavior at scout camp and they won the prestigious camp Spirit Paddle Award. A total of 134 full and 4 partial merit badges were earned at summer camp. OK, so now who's ready to begin planning the 2007 trip? Possible options include Wyoming (Tetons and Yellowstone), California (Yosemite and Sequoia) or Washington (Rainier and Seattle).

Future summer camps - Mr. Freeburger will be making reservations soon for 2005 and is looking for ideas. Mr. Anthony and Mr. Wilder provided the committee with information on scout camps in the area to consider.

Backpacking Trip on the Appalachian Trail - This will be September 17, 18, and 19 th . The hikes can be strenuous but not impossible and not extremely long. Start thinking now if you need gear to take this trip. This trip can be done without a lot of specialized hiking gear, but all should have a backpack with a frame and hiking shoes, preferably broken in. We recommend that you talk to those that have been to Philmont to discuss gear and avoid buying equipment that may not be sufficient.

Ad Altare Dei Catholic Award - It's been a few years since the Troop has provided an opportunity to obtain this prestigious medal. Mr. Burton is arranging to have someone lead the scouts that wish to work on this. More information on this soon
Adult Training Records - We'd like to know who has current scout training. Mr. Pat Myers is now keeping track of this information. Please contact Mr. Myers to let him know.

St Joes' Time and Talent Fair - This will be after masses will be on September 25 th and 26 th . Troop 746 Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will set up a table. The Troop is not interested in growing much larger but would like to let others in the parish know of the exciting things that we are doing.

Scout Eagle Project - Andrew presented his completed Eagle project, which was approved.  Great job Andrew!
